I came to meditation over 10 years ago to support my journey through chronic pain.

In the beginning, just sitting still in my body, deeply aware of pain, was overwhelming. So I turned to walking meditations, using my senses to mindfully note the world around me. To be in the moment. To calm and centre myself.

Eventually, I was able bring mindfulness to my internal landscape - and build a regular, soothing practice. Over time, I fell in love with meditation because it helped me to:

· feel more balanced
· be kinder to myself
· to find that important pause between an emotional trigger – and my response
· be more present and connected to others

And, of course, to help calm my pain.

Eventually I decided to train as a meditation teacher so that I could help others realise these benefits. Today, I teach mindfulness and compassion practices. I especially love guiding people living with pain based on my lived experience – and supported by my education and training in pain neuroscience and chronic pain recovery.
